BUYER BEWARE!!! We built our home 2005/2006. I am so disappointed, and angry. Our driveway, sidewalks, and front porch is crumbling and falling apart. The so-called concrete under the garage door has crubled so badly the gap is 2". This moring we had snow drifts in the garage because the concrete has dissovled!!! We to were told we used to much rock salt, which we never used. Because the concrete is disovling on our front porch, rain water runs off the side of the porch, thru the cardboard walls in our garage. The walls are molded now, and the cardboard is falling apart. When it rains we have a steady stream of water flowing in the garage and now its stating to run in the basement. When the foreman came out he told us we must have poked a hole in the wall/cardboard. Anyone can see the water damage, and the staple they poked thru the cardboard is where the water started coming in. We have no insulation in our garage, they used cardboard for the walls. Our master bath is over our garage, needless to say it is freezing in our master in the winter, and burning up in the summer. We truned in a list several times to Moronda to fix, funny thing is when the new foreman came out he tells us our file is clean, we have nothing remaing to be repaired Really, how bout no caulk around anything in the house. Carpet that has to continually be strecthed, faucets that leak, we've replaced 4 faucets so far. Flooring that is damaged and has been since me moved in, and we are told to call rite rug who won't do anything. Why did they install the cable jack under the thermostat in the middle of the family room wall? This is the cheapest house I have everseen in my life. BUYER BEWARE!!! Maronda is the worst home builder in America.
Our cabients don't line up dishwasher does not fit and keeps tearing up the wall. I could go on and on... Just know that I would never buy a Maronda home again, and I will never say anything good about Maronda...

My husband and I had our home built with Maronda and it took a long time for completion. Since moving in 2005, we've had our number of concerns that has built up to scary concerns. Sometimes I think the house is going to cave in, especially during thunderstorms. After five years, we're still seeing fresh cracks coming from the ceiling downward! More and more cracks are in the stucko. Now I know that stucko will crack, but my goodness! Like all homes, the foundation is under a 10 year warranty and we would like it to be checked. I've tried calling several Maronda Homes phone numbers, but to no avail. I'm becoming desperate......can the Current Maronda Employee help? If the company is worth it, provide me with the right help!

I purchased a Maronda home in Johnstown, OH about 4 years ago. I had nothing but issues, some of which were taken care of, some were dismissed to "inadequate home maintenance". The first issue I had was the master bathroom leaked and caused mold issues and the bathroom was tore apart for three months. I would say about every house in our development has had the siding blown off. Several of the houses I know of have had leaks down the fronts of their houses on the inside and one had a severe mold issue in their finished basement. I have had my back door replaced twice because the door frame was crooked and they can't get it to sit right and it leaks. The last time I called them on it because the floor was rotting below the door they said it was poor maintenance. The guy that came and looked at it said it was due to the lack of caulking maintenance. That would have been fine if he hadn't peeled the caulking off, then took pictures to show his manager and that is why they wouldn't replace the floor. But when I showed them the fact that the bottom plate was exposed and water was coming that way, they said it wasn't enough to cause any issues. I understand getting what you paid for, but general building construction should be held to a standard and structural things shouldn't be an issue as frequently as they are. This is my second new built construction home by a builder and I never had the issues I have had with my current home. I have more issues, but just keep in mind what everyone says. I hear many of my neighbors complain about many different issues which could have been prevented if things were done correctly the first time.

buy the cheapest home you get the cheapest home. As far as a shoddy builder goes you have to do some diligence. The home inspector should have recognized shoddy construction but half of them dont know what they are doing. its easier to walk away from a sale then it is getting a shoddy builder to come fix their corner cutting construction.

Does anyone else have the same AC problem as I do. We purchase this house 4 years ago , there is a huge crack in the garage, our biggest problem is the AC unit. They said that the state requires a four ton unit for the Mt.Vernon size homes 29sqft. This home has never been cool despite everything we have done something is terribly wrong here, anyone with similar problems? A non related engineer came by he insisted the unit was way too small for this two story home. I see 1 flat homes in this complex with bigger size from Maronda Homes. Termostat set on 78 tempein home cannot go below 84. Some daus it's a connstant 91 in here. Now my 91 year old M xti s ins t. n c cv Has anyone

The true owner died and the company was left to his son. His father would be terribly disappointed to watch his company in ruins at the hands of his own son. Tssk tssk. Never pick quantity over quality. Especially with Maronda. They take cheap labor to a new extreme. Its like buying a home at "Fifty Cent General" the store that wishes it was "Dollar General". Sad. Okay I am done. Gl

I personally know the ppl building your homes. The frames, the roofs, the doors, the kitchen cabinets and let me tell you ppl your complaints are justifiable. I am telling the truth, you have a bunch of guys making $264 a week that do drugs or just dont give a crap putting your homes together. And the ones that do care are gone bc they cost $4 more an hr. With no benefits or bonuses and its sad. If ppl only knew what I know Maronda would be a has been. Put a stop to this robbery/false advertisement. And my fiance is so good he had a new job 4 hrs after being let go. I kid you not. What a joke. I am sorry to those who have been taken advantage of. Trully am sorry.

Yes, there are many ppl today that dont take pride in their work. My fiance isnt one of them. The problem is, is that Maronda Homes doesnt want to find and pay the ppl that do take pride. When will thia company wake up and realize cheap labor wont save them. They need to spend the money and sell quality. They would save more money that way rather than cheap bogus labor and having to repair all their work (if they even do that) and pay lawsuit settlements. Take legal action now bc Maronda is going bankrupt. They filed Monday for Chapter 11 bankrupt protection so they can re-organize. File now while you still can!
