Safeco offering Teen driver monitoring system & parent website

Got an email from Stephen Evanko, owner of Delaware Insurance Advisors (sevanko [at] delinsadv [dot] com )  telling me about his new website for parents of Teen drivers.  I’m still four years away from my boy driving, but I’m excited by the latest technology being used to monitor youthful drivers.

Safeco is offering (to their policyholders) a teen monitoring system for $15 a month.  Their “Beacon” GPS monitoring system is installed in the vehicle and sends phone or email messages when your teen is speeding, out of a certain area, or driving outside of curfew times.  You can even located the vehicle on a map or remotely unlock doors.

Safeco is a solid company with a good preferred driver program.  I’ve considered switching to them in the past..  before one of my rental  properties burned down .

It remains to be seen if all this new technology will work with the ‘93 Ford Ranger I plan on giving my son.  I look forward to using technology to torture my boy.
