Hello and thank you so much for all of this valuable information. My home was in the heart of the August Hail storm in Omaha. We had TENNIS-BASEBALL size hail. I have pics! Anyway, I read all of your hail Q & A and learned so much. Question; my Mom (83)got a call from a reputable company last night(BBB rating A+). They said they were doing work on houses up the street. They are based out of MN with an office in Des Moines. They had her sign papers and asked her to sign over her insurance check. When they saw the check was also made out to me they told her they would be back tomorrow morning to get my signature. My question is should a contractor expect the full payment up front and do I trust an A+ company that would call and visit an 83 year old woman on a Saturday evening and be ready to close the deal without even being able to see the damage to the house?
